Altec is seeking a Part-time Accounting Technician

Location: 200 Consumer Road, North York, ON (On Site)

Type: Part-time Flexible

About the Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Part-time Accounting Technician to join our team. Fluency in English and Cantonese/Mandarin is required to communicate with clients. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, proficiency in QuickBooks, and a thorough understanding of bookkeeping principles. This role is crucial in maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with tax filings, and supporting the overall financial operations of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks using QuickBooks, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all financial entries
  • Reconcile bank and credit card statements on a monthly basis
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoice generation and payment processing
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Support the tax filing process by gathering necessary documentation and data
  • Maintain organized financial records and ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve discrepancies and address financial inquiries
  • Assist in budget preparation and financial forecasting activities
  • Perform account analysis and reconciliations to ensure data integrity
  • Generate and distribute various financial reports as requested by management
  • Contribute to the improvement of financial processes and systems
  • Assist with audit preparation and provide support during audits
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information
Qualifications and Skills
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Fluent in English and Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin)
  • 2-5 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks, with the ability to navigate and utilize advanced features
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and tax regulations
  • Experience with tax filing procedures and requirements
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial calculations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Familiarity with accounting software and financial management systems
