We efficiently serve growers' needs and strive to provide a more profitable, sustainable, and secure future for all stakeholders.  Help us raise the expectation of what an agriculture company can be and grow your career with Nutrien.  The Architecture team at Nutrien Digital provides technical leadership, enabling development teams to build data-driven applications that advance Nutrien's business goals.  We provide an architectural framework that enables Nutrien to integrate with internal and external partners, build our precision Ag data platform, and promote collaboration between our crop consultants and growers.This Sr. Principal Software Architect position is responsible for an AWS-based integration platform.  In this platform, you will work directly with Nutrien teams as well as technical teams at our external partners.  Your primary focus is to specify, design and oversee the implementation of our integration architecture.  Additionally, you will be responsible for monitoring and assessing the work of several development teams' compliance with our architectural standards.  Architects at Nutrien Digital are not "ivory tower" architects.  In other words, the expectation is that we are not only good at architecture, but also first-rate hands-on developers who participate in building the SDKs and frameworks that the development teams use.  We also train and support developers to be effective at using these resources.What you will do: Design and help build Nutrien's data and integration platformTrain and mentor other technical staff including other architects and engineering teamsPresent at meetings to both technical and non-technical audiencesMonitor in-flight development efforts to ensure compliance with architectural standardsShape our technology strategy through defining architecture, applying relevant patterns, introducing new software solutions, and identifying areas of growth for the organization Design resilient infrastructure solutions that achieve confidentiality, integrity, and availability.Design effective software patterns that are observable, extensible, and maintainableDevelop documentation, architecture diagrams, and training assets to socialize our platform strategy throughout the organizationWhat you will bring: 10+ years of software development and data engineering experience in a cloud-native environmentExperience working as an architect in a large organizationExperience working on projects that span multiple organizations and business units including directly coordinating interfaces and integrations with the other partners' architecture groupsExpertise with event-based architectures and tools such as KafkaExpertise with AWS serverless technologies such as AWS LambdaExpertise with TypeScript / JavaScript and Competency with various database and analytics technologies such as DynamoDB, RDS, and Red ShiftCompetency with Infrastructure as Code such as CDK and/or TerraformCompetency with Python a plusExperience with React Native a plusAbility to recommend platform-level optimizations based on system performance metricsStrong writing skills to create technical documentation such as SDKs, specifications, and training materialsExperience integrating with SAP technologies such as R4 HANA and BTP a plusReady to make an impact with us?
