Coordinator, Social Media & Digital Marketing
The Humane Society is seeking a dynamic and creative Coordinator, Social Media & Digital Marketing to join our Marketing & Community Engagement team. This role is ideal for a communications professional who is passionate about digital storytelling, community engagement, and animal welfare.
As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and executing engaging digital content across multiple platforms, including social media, email, website, and digital advertising. Your work will help elevate our public profile, foster meaningful connections with our community, and support the growth of our programs and services.
This position requires a strategic thinker with strong technical skills, a collaborative mindset, and a commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Collaborating with team members to develop and implement the organization's digital and social media strategy
- Aligning content with communication calendars and organizational priorities
- Planning and sourcing messaging that reflects The Humane Society's mission and values
- Managing and monitoring all social media platforms and content
- Overseeing website updates and creating SEO-optimized content·
- Troubleshooting digital media issues as needed
- Designing and developing written and visual content for email, digital, print, and other marketing initiatives
- Capturing and producing photography and videography projects
- Ensuring all content adheres to brand guidelines and communicates organizational goals effectively
- Exploring emerging platforms and trends to expand reach and engagement
- Creating relevant, value-driven content for community boards, calendars, and stakeholder platforms
- Managing online forms and processing updates
- Providing live coverage and photo documentation at events and programs
- Building a presence in online communities and developing strategies for blog and website engagement
- Utilizing analytics tools to measure performance and optimize marketing efforts
Qualifications & Skill Required:
- Post-secondary graduate in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Communications, Media, or a related field
- Experienced in graphic design and content creation using tools such as Canva and Figma
- Proficient in Adobe Suite (Premiere Pro, Photoshop, InDesign) or equivalent software
- Skilled in writing strategic, brand-aligned content across platforms
- Detail-oriented with strong proofreading and communication skills
- Knowledgeable in social media platforms and tools (Facebook, X/Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Vimeo, TikTok, LinkedIn, Hootsuite)
- Comfortable using MS Office, databases, and PowerPoint
- Familiar with web design platforms such as Contentful or WordPress (an asset)
- Analytical, with the ability to produce detailed reports
- Capable of working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Organized, with excellent time management and multitasking abilities
- Possessing strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Experienced in photography/videography and DSLR camera use (an asset)
- Certified in Facebook, Google, or Hootsuite (an asset)
- Hold a valid Ontario driver's license with access to a reliable vehicle
Working Conditions:
- Work will be conducted at both Kitchener and Stratford locations, with travel to event sites as required
- Availability to attend work-related events (e.g., fundraisers) during evenings or weekends.
- Frequent use of computers and mobile devices; manual dexterity required
- Intermittent physical activity including walking, standing, and sitting.
- Fast-paced environment with regular exposure to animals.
