The Night Auditor is responsible for overseeing the hotel operations during the night shift. This role combines the duties of a front desk agent, accounting procedures, and guest service representative. The Night Auditor ensures all financial transactions are accurately recorded, reconciles accounts, and provides excellent guest services to ensure a comfortable and seamless guest experience. The Night Auditor is responsible for the safety and security of the hotel guests, associates, and property during the overnight shift (11:00pm – 7:00am).

Responsibilities:

  • Check in and check out guests efficiently and courteously.
  • Handle guest inquiries, requests, and concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Provide information about the hotel, available services, and other inquiries.
  • Reconcile and balance all accounts for the day, ensuring accurate and complete financial records.
  • Prepare and distribute daily management reports, including the daily revenue report and other key financial summaries.
  • Process and verify payments, ensuring compliance with hotel policies and procedures.
  • Handle cash, credit card transactions, and other forms of payment securely and accurately.
  • Monitor the security of the hotel, ensuring all doors are locked and the property is secure.
  • Conduct regular property walks to ensure safety and security standards are met.
  • Respond to emergency situations promptly and follow established protocols.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • One-year previous experience in a similar role required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reconciliation.
  • Proficiency in hotel software and Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions during overnight hours.

  • Flexibility to work over night shift, weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Valid BC Driver's license required with the ability to drive both standard and automatic vehicles.
  • Occupational First Aid Level 1 or higher preferred
