The Opportunity: FSL Instructor & Program Lead

We are seeking an experienced, bilingual French as a Second Language (FSL) Instructor to lead, manage, and deliver targeted French language training. This program is specifically designed for international students pursuing Canadian immigration goals.

This unique role combines curriculum oversight and program leadership with hands-on expert FSL instruction. The ideal candidate is passionate about adult language acquisition, adept at preparing students for official proficiency tests (TEF Canada, TCF), and focused on real-world success.

Key Responsibilities

Program Leadership & Management

  • Design & Strategy: Develop high-quality FSL programming aligned with CLB/CEFR and Canadian immigration requirements.
  • Operational Oversight: Manage daily program operations, including scheduling, curriculum refinement, and ensuring effective student support.
  • Performance Monitoring: Conduct program evaluation and reporting using assessments and student feedback.
  • Liaison: Collaborate with the supervisor to align language training with learners' academic and immigration strategies.

Expert Instruction & Student Success

  • Instruction: Deliver dynamic, level-appropriate FSL instruction to diverse adult learners in a blended (in-person) format.
  • Test Preparation: Integrate dedicated preparation for official language proficiency tests, including TEF Canada and TCF.
  • Assessment: Evaluate progress and provide timely, individualized feedback.
  • Environment: Cultivate a positive, inclusive, and culturally responsive learning environment.
  • Technology: Effectively utilize classroom technology and virtual teaching tools (e.g., Teams, Zoom, Google Classroom).

What You Will Bring

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in French, Education, Applied Linguistics, or a related field.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum 2 years of progressive experience delivering FSL instruction to adult learners.
  • Prior experience working with international students or newcomers to Canada is highly preferred.
  • Supervisory or program coordination experience is a distinct asset.
  • Skills:
  • Exceptional bilingual proficiency in English and French.
  • Demonstrated expertise in adult education methodology.
  • Proficiency with essential classroom and virtual teaching technologies.
  • Highly effective communicator with a flexible and goal-oriented approach.

Note: The role requires flexibility, as some evening or weekend instruction may be scheduled based on student needs.
