Meinhardt Fine Foods has an opening for a Savoury Cook at our South Granville location in Vancouver, BC. This role is full-time and reports to the Store Manager.

Meinhardt Fine Foods is Western Canada's culinary destination. Our goal is to serve up a line of delicious freshly prepared foods, and compelling signature items, all delivered in a fresh and entertaining environment where you will want to "feed your curiosity".

Meinhardt Fine Foods has been a vibrant part of South Granville since 1996 and boasts some of the best olive oils in the city, a large take-out deli, along with all kinds of unique items sourced from around the world.

Cooks are responsible for preparing delicious food options while providing fast, friendly service to customers in our busy grocery store.

Job duties and responsibilities:

  • Working primarily on the hot line
  • Preparing daily specials and ensuring freshness of the ingredients
  • Ensuring all finished products meet standards for presentation
  • Maintaining proper storage, labeling and rotation of food items
  • Supervising junior staff
  • Organizing and prioritizing duties

Skills and qualifications:

  • Must have at least 3 years of line experience (hot and cold)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work different shifts including evenings and weekends
  • Experience with multitasking in a high-pressure environment
  • Passionate, committed, energetic with strong work ethics
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Professional attitude and excellent problem-solving skills
