Summary
As the HR Manager, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing HR policies, practices, and programs that align with business goals. You will play a key role in talent acquisition, employee engagement, organizational development, compliance, and cultivating a high-performance culture in a regulated environment.
Job Duties
- Develop and implement HR strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives.
- Partner with senior leadership to support organizational growth and scalability.
- Act as a trusted advisor to management on HR policies, legal compliance, and employee relations.
- Oversee end-to-end recruitment processes, focusing on attracting top talent in cultivation, production, R&D, and corporate roles.
- Implement workforce planning strategies to meet production and seasonal demands.
- Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in hiring practices.
- Foster a positive workplace culture emphasizing respect, collaboration, and transparency.
- Address employee concerns, conflict resolution, and support a safe and inclusive work environment.
- Lead employee engagement initiatives, including wellness programs and team-building activities.
- Identify skill gaps and implement training programs in compliance, safety, and professional development.
- Lead leadership development programs to nurture internal talent pipelines.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training initiatives.
- Manage competitive compensation structures and benefits packages aligned with industry standards.
- Oversee payroll, employee perks, and wellness programs.
- Conduct regular market analyses to ensure competitiveness in the cannabis sector.
- Ensure compliance with Canadian labour laws, Health Canada regulations (GPP/GMP), and cannabis industry standards.
- Oversee Health & Safety programs, ensuring a safe working environment in cultivation and production areas.
- Manage workplace policies around cannabis consumption, safety protocols, and risk management.
- Track and analyze key HR metrics (e.g., turnover, retention, engagement) to inform decision-making.
- Prepare regular reports for senior leadership regarding workforce trends and HR initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or Post graduate certificate in Human Resources Management required.
- CHRP/CHRL preferred
- Minimum 5 years experience in HR required
- Work experience or education in employment law or other area of regulations preferred
- Experience in regulated industries (Cannabis, Pharma, Food, etc.)
- Proven ability to manage employee relations, conflict resolution, and compliance in a complex environment.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with HRIS systems, payroll management, and data-driven HR strategies.
