About us

Habits for a Better World is a global nonprofit using design, research, and film to tackle pressing challenges such as climate change, health, and social equity. With over 350 volunteers worldwide, we are building a movement to inspire everyday habits that make the world a better place.

This is a volunteer role, ideal for a designer who wants to apply their craft for global impact, expand their portfolio, and collaborate with an amazing international team.

Our volunteers gain valuable experience they can showcase in their résumés and portfolios, helping them unlock new opportunities, promotions, and meaningful career growth. They also get to work in a highly supportive environment, collaborating with incredible colleagues from around the world many of whom become lifelong friends. You'll be joining an amazing team that's using its collective skills to help make the world better.

Location: Remote | Commitment: ~5–10 hrs/week | Start: Immediate

We're looking for passionate volunteer visual designers to join our
Habits for a Better World

nonprofit team.

What you'll do

  • Create compelling visual designs for our social media campaigns.
  • Translate research insights and storytelling into clear, impactful visuals.
  • Collaborate with PhD scientists to leverage evidence-based communication strategies to inspire positive behavior change.

What we're looking for

  • Formal training in graphic design (degree, diploma, or equivalent).
  • A strong specialization in visual design for social media.
  • Experience (professional or volunteer) creating content for social media.
  • A portfolio that demonstrates creativity, versatility, and the ability to communicate ideas visually.
