About this opportunity:

Ericsson 5G core business is launching an innovative and highly dynamic unit that will change how we bring 5G solutions to the market, thus changing the way 5G core is delivered globally. We aim to build and deliver Cloud Native solutions "as a Service" on Hyper Cloud Providers (HCP).
You will have the opportunity to spearhead how the public cloud connects with core telco services and help build more elastic and fit-for-purpose capabilities, while venturing new business models. This will fundamentally change how we bring 5G services to the industry, making it more accessible, more versatile, and create new opportunities for innovation.

We will bring the standard methodologies of the SaaS industry in the public cloud to the realization of 5G services. We are looking for individuals who want to lead change in the industry, apply the latest technologies to a domain that society relies on day in and day out.

What you will do:
  • Design, develop and support Cloud Native scalable, high performance and robust Control-Plane functions.
  • Ensure the operational reliability, availability, security, and performance of cloud-based applications by implementing monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions.
  • Work in a full-stack capacity – developing your service code as well as associated automated tests, deployment and monitoring code .
  • Apply containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes to deploy and run applications in a cloud environment.
  • Work with our Cloud Native based continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to automate the software delivery process.
  • Stay up to date with emerging trends and technologies in Control-Plane Software_as_a_Service (SaaS) Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).
  • Work in a team using Lean, Agile and DevOps methodologies and tooling.
What you will bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science or equivalent technical discipline
  • Strong knowledge in 3GPP control protocols, in relation to Mobility and/or Session management.
  • Experience in developing stateless Cloud Native SW components
  • Experience with using Infra as Code (IaC), or Config as Code for SRE operational stability and reliability
  • Experience with containerization technologies, especially Docker, and container orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools like Cloud Build, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.
  • Strong knowledge with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (and/or AWS, Azure).
  • Some understanding of microservices architecture, RESTful /gRPC APIs, and cloud-based databases is a plus.
  • Knowledge of IaC tools like Terraform, Google Deployment Manager or AWS CloudFormation is a plus.

- Actively participate in all development activities, such as requirement analysis, system, architecture, hardware and software design.

- Collaborate in the integration, verification, and simulation processes for optimal product development.

- Contribute to the designing of tools and support for Product Lifecycle Management (PLM).

- Play a role in creating comprehensive product documentation.

Your Pay
The salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, and the candidate's combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience.

Short-Term Variable Compensation Plan: Your pay also includes the opportunity for an annual bonus. Actual bonus payouts are based on performance of the business against the unit's objectives, individual performance, and the individual bonus target. Certain eligibility and pro-ration rules apply. 

Sales Incentive Plan: Your pay also includes the opportunity for sales incentives as a part of Ericsson's Sales Incentive Plan. Actual payouts are based on performance of the business against the unit's objectives, individual performance, and the individual incentive target. Certain eligibility and pro-ration rules apply.

Ericsson offers excellent health benefits including the choice of 2 medical and dental plan options that allow an employee to select the level of coverage that suits their needs. Employees will receive company credits in an amount equal to the cost of the Deluxe medical and dental plan coverages for themselves and eligible covered dependents.

Your Financial Security
We invest in both your short and long-term financial wellbeing. Ericsson's Group Retirement & Savings Program offers an automatic 2% company contribution into the Pension Plan. Ericsson also offers a 50% match of employee's contribution into the Registered Retirement Savings Plan, up to 8% of the employee's contribution (maximum of 4% match). This leads to a total company contribution potential of 6%. Employees will also receive company credits in an amount equal to the cost of basic life insurance and basic accidental death and dismemberment coverage, as well as short-term disability coverage. Employees also have the option to participate in Ericsson's Stock Purchase Plan.

Your Time
Your work-life balance is important to us. New employees are provided a minimum of 18 days of accrued vacation, 3-5 personal days (depending on role), 10 holidays, 1 volunteer day, and sick days. Please note paid time off is pro-rated based on the employee's start date. Furthermore, Ericsson provides up to 10 weeks of paid maternity leave and 6 weeks of parental or adoption leave at 100% of pay.
