Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Sonographer to join our healthcare team. The Sonographer will be responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound examinations on patients, ensuring high-quality imaging results while providing excellent patient care. This role requires a deep understanding of medical terminology and the ability to communicate effectively with patients and medical staff.

Duties

  • Conduct ultrasound examinations, including but not limited to abdominal, obstetric, gynecological, and vascular studies.
  • Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process and ensuring their comfort.
  • Operate ultrasound equipment and ensure proper functionality before each examination.
  • Analyze images for quality and accuracy, making adjustments as necessary to obtain optimal results.
  • Document findings and prepare reports for physicians to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all safety protocols and regulations.

Skills

  • Proficient in medical terminology relevant to sonography and diagnostic imaging.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify abnormalities in images.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients and medical staff.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Compassionate demeanor with a commitment to patient care and comfort.

Requirements

  • Active credentialed member of Sonography Canada
  • 1 year scanning experience in a Canadian hospital or clinic setting
  • Echocardiography experience preferred
  • Proficiency is English is required, all work is done in English
