Recreation Theatre Instructor – Performing Arts

Part Time: 2-8 hours a week | Rate: Starting at $25.00/hr. Negotiable depending on experience.

Rise Arts Company is looking for a Theatre Instructor to lead recreational theatre programs across the Vancouver area. Applicants must be comfortable with planning and leading drama/theatre programs for ages 3-12.

Qualifications:

  • Applicants must be available Mondays and Wednesday between 3:00pm-6:00pm.
  • Have a background in drama and/or theatre
  • Have a joy and passion working with children ages 3-12 years old
  • Must have experience lesson planning and leading a range of activities to children and/or youth
  • Must be comfortable leading programs to groups of 25+ participants. Assistant instructors are provided for larger classes
  • Must have the ability to effectively communicate with managers, co-workers, site staff, parents & children
  • Must be highly reliable, punctual and responsible
  • Have the ability to create a safe and welcoming space for children and youth to explore their love for creativity

Certifications/Licenses:

  • Current first-aid certificate.
  • Drivers license.
  • Must complete and pass a Police Information Check specific to working with the vulnerable sector
