This Role is for our Transportation Department coordinating movement of freight throughout North America via various modes of transport.

General Description of Role

The Senior Logistics Coordinator is responsible for managing the day-to-day execution of transportation operations with precision and urgency. This role demands a high level of industry knowledge, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail to ensure shipments are handled efficiently and customer expectations are consistently met.

The successful candidate will be expected to work independently, handle escalations, maintain effective communication with stakeholders, and uphold service standards. This role is ideal for a logistics professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes ownership of their work from start to finish.

Specific Accountability

  • Accurately respond to customer requests to book shipments while providing the best possible solution within a timely manner ensuring that company targets are obtained.
  • Source, quote and secure shipments for clients maximizing margins
  • Provide customer service/solutions via email and phone.
  • Responsible for accurately/proactively entering shipments into our TMS.
  • Interact with carriers on a daily basis including negotiating pricing, problem solving & building relationships.
  • Effectively handling difficult situations with customers or vendors.
  • Responsible for learning and following processes and procedures in place for individual customers. Actively seeks this information if not readily available.
  • Responsible for adhering to PIP procedures to ensure the overall security of freight and facility.
  • Participates in an after hours "On call" rotation providing 24/7 support to customers.
  • Responsible for completing any other responsibilities as delegated to them by senior management.
  • Responsible for meeting deadlines either set by management or as agreed upon with a client.
  • Must ensure that all clients and vendors are treated with honesty, integrity and respect.

Required skills

  • Minimum 2 years+ experience in 3P or transportation environment.
  • Strong knowledge of the logistics industry(Carriers, Modes of Transportation, Etc.)
  • Experience operating a Transportation Management System.
  • Fluent in written and oral English. (French an asset)
  • Must be able to operate in a fast pace environment
  • Must be able to multitask.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.
  • Attention to detail required
  • Ability to problem solve required
  • Knowledge of general geography
  • The successful candidate must obtain a clean voluntary police background check prior to start of employment.
  • Hours Monday-Friday during regular business hours. Exact timing TBA

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $50,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
