Construction Estimator

Job Responsibilities:

  • Foster effective working relationships with stakeholders including consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.
  • Prepare accurate estimates of material, labor, and equipment costs for construction projects based on bids, drawings, and specifications.
  • Manage the tendering process and implement cost monitoring and reporting systems.
  • Generate and maintain cost and expenditure statements and forecasts throughout projects.
  • Maintain a directory of suppliers and contractors, and liaise with them as necessary.
  • Communicate with project stakeholders, including engineers, architects, and subcontractors, and conduct economic feasibility studies.
  • Coordinate construction projects and prepare progress schedules to ensure timely completion.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • College or university degree in Construction Management or related field preferred
  • Previous working experience as a residential construction estimator for (3-5) years
  • Strong knowledge of standard residental construction materials and parctices and the Ontario Building code
  • Attend applicable company meetings both in-office and on-site to enable project estimating.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of residential renovation and construction techniques.
  • Working knowledge of residential estimation and quantity take off techniques
  • Proficient in using estimating software and tools
  • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $52,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
