Legal Services Assistant

The Legal Services Department is looking for an adaptable, enthusiastic and committed person to join a small, extremely busy team providing clerical and secretarial support in the provision of a range of services provided by the Legal Services Department, with particular emphasis on processing legal requests received from Solicitors, Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal, Police and by way of Court Order.
You should have previous clerical experience and a working knowledge of Microsoft office, particularly word, excel and outlook online. Previous legal or NHS experience would be desirable.
Knowledge of the Data Protection Act 2018 and Access to Health records act 1990 is desirable. Experience of working in an NHS and medical records environment would be advantageous.

However, this is only possible if the employer is a licenced Sponsor, and if the post does not fall below the current minimum salary threshold or 'going rate'. Due to legislative changes from 1 April 2025, this post may require a different level of criminal records check done than is currently the case. If the post is assessed as a "regulated role", your appointment will be subject to joining the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme.
