Job Overview:

The Maintenance Lead position, under the direction of the Facilities Manager, requires an energetic approach and comfort working with the public. The role involves overseeing general daily maintenance operational tasks of the HOA, managing the facilities in the evenings and liaising with the weekend lead to ensure a smooth transition and handover for the weekends. The Senior maintenance supervisor will ensure the maintenance team are adequately trained, that they complete daily tasks, and support the team in serving the community effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee general operations of the facilities, park and lake

  • Lead, motivate, and mentor the team to ensure daily tasks are completed.

  • Support the team in their roles and manage difficult situations with members.

  • Communicate and meet with management to update on day-to-day operations.

  • Assist management in scheduling and monitoring overtime.

  • Create weekly performance reports including safety compliance and shift reporting.

  • Provide first aid and follow-up as needed.

  • Assist in special events.

  • Enforce procedures, policies, and regulations.

  • Report safety, equipment, patron, or staff concerns to management.

  • Perform and oversee overall facility maintenance.

  • Report maintenance issues and required repairs.

  • Supervise facilities and parks in the absence of management.

  • Participate in developing and enforcing policies and procedures.

  • Perform complex and technical tasks including maintenance of lake aerators and geothermal units.

  • Respond to public inquiries and investigate complaints.

  • Monitor and maintain lake levels and water quality per AHS requirements.

  • Monitor and maintain lake ice quality.

  • Building natural ice surfaces and the operation of ice resurfacing equipment.

Job Requirements:

  • Postsecondary education.

  • Experience in general facility and park maintenance and operations

  • Previous experience in managing and leading a maintenance team.

  • Experience in BMS management and HVAC operations.

  • Experience in natural ice making and maintenance.

  • Ability to engage and share knowledge of programs with participants.

  • Awareness of safety codes.

  • Ability to motivate and mentor team members.

  • Completion of Mahogany HOA First Aid certification upon hire.

  • Ability to work effectively with diverse demographics.

  • Knowledge of minor plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repairs.

  • Proficiency in operating and maintaining maintenance equipment.

  • Preference for computer skills related to Microsoft Office.

  • Strong time management and multitasking skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Vulnerable sector check required.

  • Driver's license.

  • Confidence and experience in customer service.

  • Conflict resolution skills.

  • Natural enjoyment of working with people.

Work Conditions:

  • Weekday, weekend, and evening work required.

  • Outdoor environment requiring appropriate clothing for various weather conditions.

  • Flexible schedule.

  • Limited but possible overtime.

  • On-call schedule.

  • Interaction with employees, management, and the public.

  • Physical requirements include long periods of walking and standing, and the ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 50lbs.

  • Operation of equipment and small vehicles.

This role demands a proactive, energetic approach with excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills to ensure the effective operation and maintenance of Mahogany Beach Club facilities.
