Portée du travail: Ce poste interagira avec les cadres supérieurs, les responsables fonctionnels, les responsables des centres de services et le personnel des opérations dans toute l'organisation. Les principaux groupes fonctionnels et clients pour ce poste sont SSE, Qualité, Opérations, Inspections, Matériaux, Service client, Ingénierie, Ressources humaines, organismes réglementaires externes et Achats. Ce poste se concentrera sur la recherche et l'analyse liées à l'environnement, à la santé, à la sécurité et à la qualité. Il s'agit d'un poste clé indépendant et inter fonctionnel qui apporte des connaissances et une influence significative au groupe d'opération de GATX afin de réaliser les initiatives définies. Le titulaire de ce poste doit également être en mesure de travailler efficacement et être un influenceur positif pour les employés. Les rapports directs peuvent inclure un coordonnateur inter fonctionnel, les membres de l'équipe de sauvetage et le comité de santé et de sécurité. Éducation et/ou expérience requises (y compris les certifications):
- Baccalauréat avec concentration en sciences, ingénierie, opérations ou domaine connexe, ou diplôme d'associé avec une expérience équivalente en santé et sécurité, durabilité environnementale.
- 3 années ou plus d'expérience dans un environnement de production avec responsabilité en matière de santé, de sécurité et d'environnement (ou équivalent dans un rôle de conseillé en SSE).
- Connaissances et expérience spécifiques en matière d'entrée dans des espaces clos, de travail en hauteur et de prévention et d'enquête sur les incidents.
- Connaissance pratique des réglementations environnementales et de SSE du Québec et des procédures et de la gestion de cas de la CNESST.
- Une expérience du système de gestion responsable et/ou de SafeStart est un atout.
- Une expérience dans le domaine ferroviaire ou en nettoyage de wagons est un atout.
- Une expérience en milieu syndical est un atout.
- Capacité à travailler et à interagir avec plusieurs départements dans l'ensemble de nos installations et à établir des relations avec le siège social.
- Un joueur d'équipe enthousiaste avec une forte volonté d'améliorer les processus et les systèmes existants est fortement souhaité.
- Bilingue : français et anglais requis.

- Ce poste exige une présence sur site pendant les heures d'ouverture et des déplacements fréquents dans l'atelier.
- Déplacements minimes requis aux États-Unis et au Canada.
- Capacité à effectuer des travaux en extérieur (dans un environnement froid et chaud).

Provides leadership for the Montreal Service Center's Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) and sustainability program. This position is responsible for supporting the facility management goal of providing a safe and secure environment for our employees, contractors, visitors and the surrounding community in cooperation with facility and corporate Operations and EHS objectives, targets and goals. To ensure compliance with all EHS regulatory and Responsible Care requirements. To understand and strategically reduce EHS risk to all stakeholders via a proactive and continuous improvement approach.
Scope of Work: This position will interact with senior executives, functional leaders, Service Center managers, and operations staff throughout the organization. Key functional groups and customers for this position are EH&S, Quality, Operations, Inspections, Materials, NDE, Customer Service, Engineering, Human Resources, external regulatory agencies, and Maintenance Procurement among others. This position will focus on research and analysis of environmental, health, safety, and quality related issues. It is an independent, cross-functional key position that contributes significant knowledge and influence to the GATX Operations group in order to achieve our defined initiatives. This position must also be effective in working with and influencing hourly employees. Direct reports may include a cross function coordinator, the Rescue team members and the Health & Safety Committee. Education and/or Experience Required (including certifications):
- Bachelor's degree with concentration in Science, Engineering, Operations or related field, or Associate's Degree with equivalent experience Health & Safety, Environmental Sustainability.
- 3+ years of experience in a production environment with safety and environmental responsibility (or equivalent in EHS consulting role).
- Specific knowledge and experience with confined space entry, elevated work hazards and incident prevention and investigation.
- Working knowledge of Quebec environmental and safety regulations and Workers Compensation Board / case management procedures.
- Responsible Care Management System and/or SafeStart experience is a plus.
- Railroad or tank cleaning experience is a plus.
- Experience in union environment is a plus.
- Proven ability to work and interact with multiple departments throughout our facility and build relationships with the corporate office.
- An enthusiastic team player with a strong drive to improve existing processes and systems is highly desired.
