Essential Functions
- Supports the development of CADTH, INESSS, provincial and private payer submission in pursuit of optimal formulary listings
- Understands clinical study designs, health economic evaluations, and health outcomes analyses to develop and communicate a drug's value proposition to relevant stakeholders
- Works with global colleagues to adapt pharmacoeconomic models for the Canadian market
- Assess global comparative evidence (ITCs/NMAs/MAICs) to the Canadian landscape
- Support negotiation strategies; manage applicable PLAs as needed
- Work collaboratively within the global and regional access teams to co-create strategies
- Build a high level of organization knowledge and proficiency in reimbursement issues
- Support the development and execution of access strategies and tactics with cross functional team to optimize public and private reimbursement (time to listing, breadth of coverage) for assigned products. Integrate multiple components such as pricing, real world evidence generation, health technology assessment, budget impact analyses, stakeholder engagement, negotiations, policy, etc.
- Support Senior Manager, Market Access (Neurology) to develop government and other stakeholder strategies that build on Eisai's reputation of providing effective solutions to payers and patients.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree, Bachelor Degree in Pharmacy or Pharm. D. Graduate degree in pharmacoeconomics, epidemiology, HTA, or drug development is an asset.
- At least 3 years of experience in a similar role in the pharmaceutical industry.
- The ideal candidate should have knowledge of market access, pharmacoeconomics and outcomes research with pertinent experience in the pharmaceutical industry, including previous experience directly dealing with payers and health technology agencies.
- Strong commercial/ business background an asset.
- In-depth knowledge of the formulary review process and submissions, with knowledge in Product Listing Agreements (PLAs)
- Manage multiple projects with cross-functional aspects to ensure departmental alignment
- Strategic thinking, analytical and data interpretation skills to support the development of compelling value propositions addressing public and private payer needs. Understanding of budget impact analyses and basic economic modeling.
- Strong clinical background for understanding clinical conditions, diseases and associated treatments
- Initiative and action-driven; translate market access & health economics and outcome research strategies into actionable and realistic plans to maximize reimbursement opportunities for Eisai products in a timely manner
