Salary Range:

The salary range for this position is
$81,000 to $112,000
.
The final offer will be determined based on the successful candidate's skills, experience, and internal equity considerations. Please note that the offer may fall anywhere within the posted range and is not necessarily at the top end.

Overview:

Reporting to the Construction Manager, Broadway Subway Project, the Project Engineer will be responsible for supporting project implementation activities, including monitoring the contractor's construction progress and ensuring the contractor's compliance with contractual requirements.

Key Accountabilities:

• Monitor, track, and review the contractor's submittals related to schedule, work methodologies, design and field changes, and handover.
• Provide advice, guidance, and support on issues related to construction.
• Build and maintain relationships with the contractor's technical team, construction team.
• Liaise with external stakeholders (e.g., TransLink, City of Vancouver, Metro Vancouver, third-party developers).
• Lead quality reviews of completed works and provide support to the Province's Quality Manager in identifying potential non-conformances.
• Work closely with the Province's Owner's Engineer team in the review of the contractor's submittals and in addressing technical issues.
• Monitor and report on the contractor's construction progress.
• Provide support to the Province's Traffic Manager in monitoring the implementation of traffic control plans.
• Work closely with the internal communications team and other team members to address public inquiries.

Qualifications:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineer, Civil Engineering or a degree in an applicable engineering field and registered as a P.Eng. or EIT with Engineers and Geoscientists of BC (EGBC). Preference may be given to applicants with experience in building mechanical, electrical or plumbing implementation. Prior involvement in SkyTrain projects is considered an asset.
• Two to six years of experience as a Project Engineer.
• Strong interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills.
• Good knowledge of design-build projects.
• Good understanding of contract language and administration.
• Demonstrated ability to work well individually and as a member of a team.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong project management skills.

Provisos:

• Work will require travel to construction sites; driver's license (Class 5) required.

• You must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
