About the Role

Headwater Transportation is seeking experienced and safety-driven Truck Drivers to join our Pipe & Heavy Haul division. This role involves hauling pipe, heat exchangers, and other oilfield equipment across Alberta and Western Canada. Successful candidates will have strong heavy haul skills, a commitment to safety, and experience working in oilfield/industrial environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate commercial trucks (Winch Trucks, Bed Trucks, Tandem/Tridem Decks) to transport pipe, heat exchangers, and oversized equipment.
  • Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections in compliance with DOT and company safety standards.
  • Load, secure, and unload pipe and equipment using chains, binders, winches, and forklifts/loaders when required.
  • Ensure accurate logbooks, BOLs, and delivery documentation are completed and submitted on time.
  • Communicate professionally with dispatch, customers, and yard personnel regarding schedules, delays, or site requirements.
  • Adhere to all provincial regulations, permit conditions, safety policies, and load securement requirements.
  • Assist with basic mechanical troubleshooting or minor roadside repairs when necessary.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Valid Class 1 (CDL) with a clean commercial abstract.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in flatbed, pipe, heavy haul, or oilfield transport.
  • Experience with oversized, heavy, or high-value freight (pipe, modules, exchangers) preferred.
  • Ability to operate forklifts, loaders, or winch equipment is an asset.
  • Strong understanding of load securement, tie-down regulations, and oilfield safety procedures.
  • Capable of working in all weather conditions and remote locations when required.
