Resource Development Beat Geologist
.
About Your New Role
Reporting to the Supervisor, Resource Development, the Resource Development Beat Geologist plays a vital role in supporting both Engineering and Mine Operations teams with a focus on resource integrity, geological oversight, and field execution.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Provide geological input for grade control, stope design, and stockpile management.
- Conduct geological mapping and geotechnical data interpretation to guide production decisions.
- Participate in ore body interpretation and block modelling, including identifying and laying out diamond drill programs.
- Supervise geology technicians and drill crews, offering guidance and mentorship to ensure technical quality and safety.
- Oversee key geological projects, including specialized mapping and integration of structural data into the geological model.
- Manage sampling programs and interpret data for use in resource estimation models.
- Maintain strong communication with the Mining Department to align geology with operations.
- Perform geological and resource estimations, supervise drilling programs, and ensure accurate geotechnical and geological core logging.
- Collect, document, and assess geological data across active Mine zones.
- Lead and manage the underground beat, ensuring geological coverage, sample quality, and mine development alignment.
- Participate in the compilation and submission of monthly reconciliation reports, drilling progress summaries, and QA/QC documentation, supporting decision-making and data integrity.
- Field Assignments – may be assigned to supervise drill rigs at Porky or conduct safety checks at the core shack.
- Any other duties as assigned by the department.
Your Knowledge And Skills
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Work both independently and within a team environment that is fast-paced, and a rapidly changing environment.
- Positive and proactive attitude towards safety.
Your Education And Experience
The successful candidate will have:
- Will have a B.Sc. in Geology, with preference given to candidates registered as a Professional Geoscientist in Saskatchewan.
- Minimum of four (4) or more years of experience in underground mining.
- Exposure to narrow vein mining.
- Experience with AutoCAD, GEMCOM, and Leapfrog are essential.
About Our Working Conditions
This position has a schedule of 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off at our remote camp which you will be required to fly in fly out with pick up points in Saskatoon, Prince Albert and La Ronge.
