General Manager – Senior Living Community (GTA)

A new senior living community opening in approximately
6 months in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA)
is seeking an experienced and mission-driven
General Manager
to lead operations, sales, and team development. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the opening and long-term success of a purpose-built residence designed to empower seniors to live longer, healthier, and more fulfilling lives.

Position Overview

The General Manager will oversee all aspects of the community's operations — including financial performance, team leadership, sales and marketing, resident care, and regulatory compliance. You will be responsible for building a strong service culture, achieving financial goals, and ensuring residents and their families experience exceptional care and engagement.

This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for a collaborative, high-performing operator who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in creating a culture of excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Culture

  • Inspire and motivate team members to perform at their best, aligned with the community's mission and values.
  • Build, coach, and develop a cohesive leadership team focused on service excellence.
  • Foster a culture of trust, inclusion, and accountability.

Operations & Financial Management

  • Oversee daily operations to ensure consistent quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.
  • Manage the community's budget, P&L, and revenue targets to meet or exceed performance goals.
  • Implement systems and processes that support operational efficiency and resident satisfaction.

Sales & Business Development

  • Lead and support the sales and marketing process to ensure occupancy and revenue growth.
  • Build strong relationships within the local community and referral network.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to achieve lead generation, conversion, and move-in targets.

Resident & Family Engagement

  • Ensure the highest standards of care and service delivery for residents.
  • Maintain proactive communication with families and create meaningful opportunities for engagement.
  • Act as a visible, approachable leader within the community.

Compliance & Quality Assurance

  • Maintain compliance with provincial regulations and company policies.
  • Oversee quality assurance programs and implement timely corrective actions when needed.
  • Champion health, safety, and risk management standards across all departments.

Qualifications

  • College or university degree preferred.
  • Licensed Administrator (if required under provincial regulations).
  • Minimum 5 years of management experience in senior living, healthcare, or hospitality.
  • Proven success in operational leadership and team development.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets and achieving performance goals.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.
  • Passion for improving the lives of seniors and fostering community.
