Job Title: Senior Accountant Contractor

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant Contractor to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial statement preparation, tax compliance, and a keen eye for identifying opportunities to improve client financial records. As a Senior Accountant Contractor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of our clients' financial statements and tax returns.

The role allows the candidate flexibility in when, where, and how much they work at any point in time. Our structure allows the candidate to provide regular updates on their availability to take on additional work throughout the year.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

· Prepare year-end financial statements and working paper files for both compilation and review engagements.

· Conduct occasional detailed reviews on compilation and review engagements to ensure accuracy and compliance.

· Prepare corporate tax returns, ensuring accuracy and adherence to relevant tax regulations.

· Prepare GST/PST returns where applicable, ensuring compliance with regional tax regulations.

· Identify areas of improvement in clients' financial records and bring them to the partner's attention for resolution in subsequent year-end processes.

· Communicate effectively with the partner to address questions and concerns regarding financial statements and tax returns.

Qualifications:

· Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation

· Proven experience in the preparation of compilation and review engagement financial statements.

· Strong understanding of ASPE standards

· Strong understanding of corporate and personal tax regulations.

· Experience in identifying and implementing process improvements.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Skills:

· Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.

· Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.

· Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

· Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Benefits:

· The Contractor has the flexibility to determine the number of hours to work each week. The number of hours worked is dependent on the work available in the firm which is typically between 10-40 hours per week.

· The Contractor has the ability to request more work, if available, or take time off when needed.

· Salary range: $60 - $80 per hour
