Role Description

This is a part time to full time position. We are looking for an experienced all round carpenter that can do more than just basic carpentry. This position involves building both micro homes ie studios and lofts under 108 square feet as well as potentially being a GC to oversee the building of carriage houses and full backyard Suites.

Key Responsibilities:

• Complete all phases of micro home construction: framing, roofing, drywall, finishing, windows/doors.
• Perform minor plumbing and electrical work as needed.
• Interpret building plans, ensure code compliance, and deliver high-quality craftsmanship.
• Coordinate with subtrades, suppliers, and clients onsite.
• Maintain job safety and keep projects on schedule.
• Troubleshoot issues and suggest smart, efficient solutions.
• Learn project management and estimating to grow into a General Contractor role.

Qualifications:

• Journeyman Carpenter (Red Seal or equivalent certification).
• 3+ years' experience in residential or small project construction.
• Proven skills in framing, drywall, roofing, and finishing carpentry.
• Some experience with residential plumbing and electrical preferred.
• Ability to read/interpret construction drawings and perform accurate take-offs.
• Physically fit and able to work outdoors/indoors year-round.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Eager to learn, solve problems, and take on bigger responsibilities.

Nice to Have:

• Previous micro home/garden suite or modular construction experience.
• Renovation or project management exposure.
• Safety certifications (e.g. WHMIS, fall protection, first aid).

Pay $40/hr to start
