About the role
The Corporate Communications team leads Intact Financial Corporation's (IFC) Internal and External Communications in support of IFC's business objectives and strategic roadmap.
This includes:
- Supporting and amplifying the common elements that bring us together, define our unique culture and drive outperformance
- Enhancing employee engagement across IFC – emphasizing what makes us a winning team
- Protecting and promoting the IFC brand and reputation globally
- Elevating IFC's role in helping to build resilient communities where we do business
- Amplifying IFC' knowledge, expertise and thought leadership in our key markets
The Communications Advisor I for Tech+Lab (our in-house centre for digital excellence), plays a key role in organizing and executing creative and impactful events for over 3,000 Tech+Lab employees across Canada. Collaborating closely with the Tech+Lab Communications events team, the advisor will help execute event concepts with passion and precision. These events include townhalls, recognition events, Q&A sessions with senior management and forums for sharing technical expertise.
What you'll do here:
- Take part in the creative thinking and development of events and projects.
- Actively participate in the planning, coordination and execution of all logistical and material aspects of event organization.
- Be present on site at events and help ensure that they run smoothly.
- Participate in the drafting and dissemination of event-related communications.
- Keep abreast of best practices and trends in event organization and make suggestions for the implementation of ever more innovative and engaging activities.
- Contribute to various other tasks or projects, depending on the team's mandates and your skills.

- Actively participates in projects that contribute meaningfully towards annual strategic plans and IFC's objectives.
- Participates in keeping employees updated on Technology & Lab strategic priorities and changes to support employee engagement.
- Implements effective processes and best practices in all projects.
- Is a trusted advisor that builds and develops strong relationships with partners, leaders and other colleagues across Corporate Communications and IFC.
- Consistently shows curiosity by asking questions to enhance understanding and promote continuous improvement.
- Strives to live the IFC Values and is a role model to others.
What You Bring to the Table :
- College diploma or bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing or an appropriate discipline
- Previous work experience or internship in a communications and/or events-related position
- Excellent writing skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (including SharePoint), an asset
- Comfortable using graphic or video production/editing tools (such as Photoshop or Canva), an asset
- Creativity, energy, and a sense of innovation
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with resilience and adaptability, and to manage stress well
- Curiosity, resourcefulness and versatility
Thoroughness, meticulousness, attention to detail and quality
Proactivity and desire to bring new ways of doing things to the event industry
- For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country.
