Overview

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Barista to join our team in creating exceptional coffee experiences for our customers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in customer service and a love for coffee, ensuring that every beverage is crafted to perfection. This role requires excellent time management skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of food safety and preparation.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and other drinks according to established recipes and customer preferences.
  • Operate the Givex POS for order processing and cash handling.
  • Provide outstanding customer service by engaging with customers, taking orders accurately, and addressing any inquiries or concerns.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, ensuring compliance with food safety standards.
  • Assist in food preparation and serving, adhering to proper food handling procedures.
  • Manage inventory levels, restocking supplies as needed to ensure smooth operations.
  • Collaborate with team members to create a positive work environment while promoting sales through effective communication and product knowledge.
  • Utilize basic math skills for cash handling and retail transactions.

Qualifications

  • Previous barista or coffee experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
  • Strong customer service skills with a friendly demeanor and the ability to connect with customers.
  • Familiarity with POS systems (Givex) is a plus, along with basic math skills for accurate cash handling.
  • Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a busy café setting.
  • Knowledge of food safety practices and food preparation techniques within the food industry is essential. Food Handlers Certification is a plus.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: From $17.60 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 37 per week
