Responsible to the Director of Support Services for collecting, sorting, washing, drying, folding and delivering linens and personal clothing in accordance with established policies and procedures. This shift is 12am to 6am

  • Experience in industrial laundry
  • Organizational ability
  • Maturity and good mental and physical health
  • Willingness to continually update and keep current their knowledge of changing procedures, regulations, practices, etc., through participation in training programs

FUNCTIONS

  • Picks up, sorts and treats laundry according to established policies
  • Washes and dries laundry following instructions for machine operation, designated washing and drying times, etc. Mends and irons personal clothing and linen as authorized by the resident/financially responsible person on a fee-for-service basis. Irons table cloths as necessary. Folds laundry as required, sorts and delivers to appropriate areas.
  • Demonstrates respect for the privacy and dignity of the residents during performance of duties and handles their personal belongings with respect and care
  • Observes operation of machines and reports malfunctions to supervisor. Assist in maintaining laundry facilities, equipment and supplies. Cleans machines, floors and Laundry Department area daily
  • Labels resident clothing and marks linen as outlined in Laundry Department policies
  • Other related duties as directed by the Director of Support Services or delegate
  • Adheres to established policies and procedures regarding Continuous Quality Improvement activities, environment and infection control
  • Responsible for carrying out the duties of a worker under the Occupational Health & Safety Act

Every other weekend is required

shifts are 5:30pm to 12am
