Reporting to the Director of Operations, Flexxaire is currently recruiting an Automation & Robotics Specialist to join the capable and growing production team.
Minimum requirements:
· 5+ Years of Robotics & Automation design, programming and integration
· 2+ Year of Project Leadership
· Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Robotics or Computer Science, or related years of experience
· Ability to work full-time, 40 hours per week.

· Robotics: Deep understanding of various robotic systems and their applications.
· Automation Controls: Proficiency in Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems.
· Sensors & Vision Systems: Familiarity with machine vision, motion control, and other sensor technologies.
· Mechanical & Electrical Aptitude: Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
· Software: Knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Esprit, Python, C++) and relevant robotics frameworks (e.g., ROS).
· Coachable with a positive attitude
· Reliable team-player
· Self-motivated with time management and organizational skills
· Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
Role Responsibilities:
· Needs Assessment: Evaluate processes and identify areas where automation and robotics can provide the greatest benefits.
· System Design: Design custom automation and robotic systems, including specifying robots, sensors, controllers, and software.
· Component Integration: Combine different automation technologies—like robotic arms, machine vision systems, and PLCs—into a single, cohesive system.
· Programming: Develop and implement the software and control logic for the integrated system.
· Testing & Commissioning: Test the functionality of the system to ensure it meets performance requirements, safety standards, and compatibility.
· Installation & Deployment: Install the system and oversee its deployment into the operational environment.
· Maintenance & Support: Provide ongoing maintenance and support to ensure the long-term success of the automation system.
· Project Management: Manage projects from initial conception to completion, coordinating various interdisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
· Read, interpret, and follow basic diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, and other written instructions or procedures.
· Train and mentor other employees within the machine shop team.
· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
