Position Overview

We're looking for a Construction Estimator to take ownership of our estimating and pre-construction process, including both negotiated projects and public bids/tenders.

You'll review drawings and specifications, coordinate with trades and suppliers, and prepare accurate, competitive estimates that set projects up for success.

This is a technical estimating role, ideal for someone who enjoys pricing, detail, and coordination in the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed estimates for projects ranging from 
    $25K–$1M
    .
  • Review drawings, specifications, addenda, and site conditions to define scope.
  • Solicit and analyze supplier and subcontractor quotes.
  • Prepare and submit public tenders and bid packages, ensuring compliance with submission requirements.
  • Track bid opportunities, manage timelines, and maintain organized records.
  • Prepare clear, professional client proposals for negotiated projects.
  • Maintain and update pricing databases and sub-trade contact lists.
  • Support project setup and documentation for awarded jobs.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of estimating or project coordination experience (residential and commercial).
  • Familiar with public tendering, RFPs, and bid submissions.
  • Solid understanding of construction methods, materials, and Ontario Building Code.
  • Proficient in Excel, Bluebeam, JobTread and other estimating/project management software.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and written communication skills.
  • Able to manage multiple active bids and meet deadlines.
  • Valid G driver's licence and reliable vehicle for site visits.
  • Steel-toed boots required (other PPE provided).
