Overview

We're looking for a UX Designer Production Specialist to join our growing MMORPG team. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about UX, production, and MMORPGs. We are looking for a proactive and highly organized individual with strong player/developer empathy and understanding to help our studio with strategic planning and to provide design production. As a member of our team, you'll produce designs in partnership with our overseas UX team

Additionally, you'll have opportunities to develop and own parts of the UX vision for the game, collaborate with many other disciplines, and get direct feedback from our players through regular playtests.

Duties

  • Consult with cross-functional teams to define user experience requirements, visual direction, and communication needs for game features and production materials.
  • Contribute to strategic planning by collaborating with stakeholders across multiple departments to balance priorities and identify design-driven solutions.
  • Develop UX concepts, interaction flows, wireframes, and visual elements that meet established quality, performance, and usability standards for both PC and console platforms.
  • Collect, evaluate, and integrate player feedback from internal and external playtests to refine layouts, interactive elements, and overall user experience.
  • Prepare sketches, prototypes, and digital layouts using multimedia, UX, and image-processing software to support production and communication objectives.
  • Create and maintain clear documentation of UX processes, visual standards, and design guidelines to ensure consistency across the development team.
  • Act as a subject-matter expert for assigned UX areas, making informed design decisions and addressing risks or concerns throughout the production cycle.
  • Coordinate design-related production activities, ensuring timely delivery of visual and interactive assets that align with project milestones.
  • Collaborate with leadership and studio management to enhance the organization's game-development capabilities and support the planning of long-term production workflows.
  • Work within a multidisciplinary environment and provide guidance to junior designers or external creative contributors when required.

Requirements

  • Gamer with strong empathy on game players and developers
  • 3+ years of experience in software or video game development
  • Proven experience as a User Experience Designer or similar role
  • Highly organized, detail oriented and proactive, self-starter attitude.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to support multiple projects.
  • Proven experience designing complex experiences from concept through implementation
  • Deep understanding of UX design skills such as information hierarchy, information architecture, interaction design, accessibility design, and technical writing
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement high-quality prototypes that showcase innovative and engaging user experiences
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills, with the ability to translate abstract design concepts into specific designs and reason about design tradeoffs
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively work in a multidisciplinary team and make and explain design decisions in a way that builds the team's confidence in our UX approach

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the MMO field (including non-traditional modern MMOs)
  • Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese
  • Familiarity with accessibility design and standards
  • Familiarity with designing for gamepad and/or consoles
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating successful commercial game projects or personal game development initiatives
  • Bachelor's degree in User Experience Design, Computer Science, Game Design, or a related field

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $39.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 30 per week
