Our extensive product line includes grains, beans, spices, canned goods, rice, nuts, and dried fruits:—distributed to major retailers and wholesalers across North America.

We're expanding our reach in Western Canada and seeking a motivated freelance Sales Representative: who can help us build and strengthen our customer base across the western provinces.

The Role::

As an independent Sales Representative:, you will represent Shah Trading Company in your territory, focusing on expanding market presence, growing sales volume, and nurturing long-term customer relationships. This is a commission-only role:, ideal for an experienced and entrepreneurial salesperson who thrives on results and values flexibility.

Key Responsibilities::

  • Develop new business opportunities with grocery stores, ethnic retailers, food distributors, and wholesalers across Western Canada.
  • Manage and grow relationships with existing customers to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Promote Shah Trading's diverse product range, highlighting key features, pricing, and promotional offers.
  • Conduct in-person and virtual sales visits, presentations, and product demonstrations.
  • Monitor competitor activity and market trends to identify growth opportunities.
  • Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activity and submit regular updates to the Sales Manager.

Requirements::

  • Minimum 2 years of B2B sales experience: in the grocery, food distribution, or consumer goods industry.
  • Strong existing relationships with retailers and distributors in Alberta and Western Canada are an asset.
  • Proven record of meeting or exceeding sales goals.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated, entrepreneurial, and able to work independently.
  • Access to a vehicle and valid driver's license.
  • Proficiency in English (verbal and written).
  • Knowledge of South Asian, Middle Eastern, or ethnic food markets is highly advantageous.
  • Arabic, Punjabi, or Hindi language skills are an asset.
