To help us continue building a stronger, more connected community, we are seeking a dedicated
Manager of Fund Development to join our team.
The Role:
As the Manager of Fund Development, you will play a key leadership role in ensuring the financial
sustainability of Routes Connecting Communities. You will be responsible for designing and
implementing fundraising strategies, cultivating donor relationships, and securing funding through
grants, campaigns, and partnerships.
Key responsibilities include:
● Develop, implement, and oversee the organization's fund development plan.
● Lead donor stewardship activities and manage major gift strategies.
● Research, write, and submit grant proposals and funding applications.
● Build and expand relationships with individual donors, foundations, corporations, and
government partners.
● Lead and collaborate with Routes staff, contractors, and volunteers to achieve fundraising
goals.
● Create and execute campaigns, appeals, sponsorships, and special events.
● Track and report fundraising performance, targets, and budgets.
● Collaborate with communications and marketing to align fundraising messages.
● Ensure compliance with ethical fundraising standards and relevant legislation.
● Provide regular reports to the Executive Director and Board Committees on fundraising
progress.
Key Qualifications:

Minimum 7–10 years of progressive professional experience in not-for-profit fund
development, corporate sponsorships, fundraising, or sales, with increasing levels of
responsibility and a proven track record of meeting and exceeding revenue targets.
● Bachelor's degree in fundraising, public relations, business, or a related field.
● Demonstrated success in grant writing, major gifts, corporate sponsorships, capital
campaigns, planned giving, campaign planning, donor cultivation, and stewardship.
● Supervisory or managerial experience in a fundraising environment, with the ability to lead
and motivate staff, volunteers, and Board members.
● Strong knowledge of nonprofit business practices, Canadian fundraising standards, and
ethical compliance.
● Ability to analyze budgets, metrics, and ROI for fundraising initiatives.
● Experience working in a cross-cultural environment is considered an asset.
● CFRE accreditation is preferred.
Position Details:
Hourly range is:
$ $42.48 per hour
Typical weekly hours are: up to 24 hours per week
Availability: Must be available to work 8:00 am to 4:00 pm with evenings and weekends as required.
This is a hybrid position with a combination of reporting to the Sutton office, working from home
and community outreach.
