The City of Courtenay invites applications for the position of "Personal Trainer 2".

Personal Trainers design and deliver safe, effective, and personalized workouts within their scope of work, supporting clients in achieving their individual fitness goals.

Minimum Requirements
  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Relevant certifications in accordance with industry standards (e.g. BCRPA, CanFit-Pro, ACE, NASM etc.).
  • OR a current membership in relevant professional organizations (e.g. BCAK, CATA, NSCA et.).
  • Emergency First Aid and CPR-C
  • Criminal Records check with vulnerable sector
  • At least 5 years of continuous experience in a similar position
  • Experience in customer service, recreation, human/social services or in a leadership role is preferred.
  • Exceptional leadership abilities
  • Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills
  • Solid knowledge of fitness and strength equipment
  • Physical abilities to lift and carry equipment up to 45lbs
  • Teamwork and collaboration skills

The current hourly wage is $ % in lieu. The successful candidate will be required to work varied shifts, including early mornings, evenings and weekends (shift are 2 hours or more).
