Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Strategy Manager to join our Strategy & Transformation practice in Mississauga, Ontario Strategy & Transformation is AECOM's design-led management consulting studio that operates at the intersection of Business & Digital Transformation, Organizational Dynamics and Place Strategy. We blur the lines between strategy, creativity, people and the built environment.
Success in this role requires strong communication, comfort tackling diverse projects across differing industries, sincere motivation, eagerness to collaborate, and outstanding leadership, analytical, and creative problem-solving skills.
You will join our multidisciplinary practice of strategists, organizational designers, change managers, architects, data analysts, organizational psychologists, and urban designers to support projects which encompass world class corporations, agencies, institutions, universities & colleges, and local and federal government.

Once You Are Here You Will
- Lead a team in projects and work streams, comfortable communicating with clients, understanding needs, and translating them into actionable deliverables.
- Engage with clients through user research, visualize qualitative and quantitative data, and facilitate workshops to drive new ways of thinking
- Manage multiple projects, creating team workflows to meet project timelines, while proactively managing scope and change requests.
- Be comfortable interpreting and guiding extensive data analysis to convey business opportunities and operational transformation in non-technical terms
- Develop and coach team members to push their thinking and explore what's possible, be passionate about trying new things rather than focusing on best practices
- Aid in business development opportunities by strategically developing financial and operational proposals, business strategies, innovative approaches, collateral and other drivers
- Seek to understand AECOM, the markets we play in and identify growth areas, explore how approaches commonly adopted by corporate strategy and design might inform value creation in the built environment
About You
A T-shaped individual who asks thought-provoking questions, is comfortable wading into ambiguous problems and can take ownership, is a critical thinker. You have a minimum of 6+ years experience in one or more of the following areas and possess a broader comfort and ability to work within many of these areas:
- Management consulting and / or corporate strategy
- Digital transformation, operational prioritization, and implementation roadmaps
- Change management, people operations, organizational design & development
- Urban design & planning, functional space programming, and capital planning
- User research, synthesis of qualitative data and generating insights
- Data analytics & statistical modeling
- Design background in architecture, urban planning, space programming, and interiors
You're comfortable and ready to hit the ground running as soon as you get here and are:
- Highly collaborative, communicative and a creative team player
- Flexible and able to manage more than one project in more than one team
- Persuasive and reliable project manager who can build, nurture and maintain trusted external and internal business relations.
- Forward-planning in scoping, developing and resolving work plans and schedules.
- A creative storyteller comfortable with directing graphical cues to articulate technical information in a clear and concise language
Technically, you are skilled in one or more the following:
- Project management, planning, and scheduling
- Design-thinking, Lean/Agile or Prosci certified, and/or design-led strategy
- Business model generation
- Microsoft Office (specifically Excel and PowerPoint)
- Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Illustrator and InDesign)
- Revit or other space planning / design CAD systems/ GIS
- Data analytics and visualization (Excel, PowerBI, Tableau etc)
It would be a bonus if you are:
- Experienced in entrepreneurship, team / practice building within large consulting firms / organizations
- Experienced in infrastructure / the built environment
- Have led or been a part of digital transformation

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, analytics, computer science, architecture, urban design / planning, design, or another relevant field plus 6 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Preferred Requirements
- Master's degree in business, analytics, computer science, architecture, urban design / planning, design, or another relevant field.
- Experienced in entrepreneurship, team / practice building within large consulting firms / organizations.
- Experienced in infrastructure / the built environment.
- Have led or been a part of digital transformation.
