Location:
Regency Retirement Resorts have 8 locations in the Okanagan, including Vernon, Penticton, West Kelowna, and Kelowna. This position is on site in Kelowna.
Job Description:
Reporting to the General Manager, the Maintenance Specialist is an integral member of a dynamic team, responsible for the overall maintenance and upkeep of the building, grounds, and equipment, in alignment with the priorities established by the General Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general maintenance and repairs, including minor carpentry, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and painting tasks to ensure the building remains in good condition.
- Establish and maintain a preventative maintenance program for all facility systems and equipment.
- Oversee a painting and repair schedule to maintain Regency standards across suites and common areas.
- Maintain and organize inventory of furniture, equipment, and fixtures, ensuring timely repairs or replacements.
- Ensure grounds and outdoor areas are well maintained year-round, including snow/ice removal, debris cleanup, and upkeep of patio spaces.
- Conduct monthly fire inspections and quarterly fire drills in compliance with safety regulations.
- Support event logistics by assisting with setup and takedown of furniture and decorations for special functions.
- Respond promptly to maintenance emergencies and service calls, troubleshooting issues efficiently.
- Collaborate with the General Manager on budget preparation, monitoring, and departmental goals.
- Promote a positive, team-oriented environment, maintaining professionalism, confidentiality, and respect for residents and staff.
- Performs other related duties and multi-tasking functions as assigned.

Education and Experience:
- Two years recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- WHMIS
Skills for Success:
- Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Mentally and physically able to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.
- Able to plan and organize maintenance service.
- Computer literate.
Wage and Hours of Work
- This is a part-time position, scheduled four days per week (Tuesday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.).
- The hourly wage for this position is $25.00.
