Learning to Lead Youth Resiliency, Surrey

Opportunity
PCRS requires an experienced youth worker for the Learning to Lead Program which is a youth resiliency program designed to build youth leadership skills through connection to community and prosocial activities. Workers will support and participate with youth in weekly groups and monthly recreation and volunteer opportunities. Applicants should have experience being a part of multidisciplinary team and have a strong background in collaborative planning. Applicants should be able to demonstrate experience in meeting youth where they're at, recognition of the ongoing influence of trauma and disconnection on the youth served and building on youth's strengths and passions to create meaning and strengthen resilience.
Hours are based on a flexible schedule as required but will primarily cover core hours with some later hours and occasional weekends depending upon groups and activities.
This position is in office and outreach based and not eligible for a remote work agreement.
Qualifications
- B.A. in a related field plus 1-year related experience, or a Child and Youth Care Diploma plus two years' experience or a combination of related work experience/education with at-risk/high-risk youth.
- Criminal record check including the vulnerable sector.
- Class 5 driver's license and driver's abstract with Business Insurance use use of own vehicle (mileage paid).
- Driver's abstract must be submitted.
- Clear and concise communication skills, both verbal and written
- Familiarity with trauma-informed practices
