I. PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The Portfolio Revenue Manager will report to the Senior Manager, Revenue Management and will play a key role in maximizing room revenue and market share for the assigned portfolio of hotels within Canada. The position is responsible for developing and recommending retail and pricing strategies to optimize business mix through multiple distribution channels in various markets. The Portfolio Revenue Manager must be strategic and decisive, combining knowledge of e-commerce, sales, marketing, and distribution to make optimal revenue decisions.

The Portfolio Revenue Manager position will be home-based.
In addition, you must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

II.   KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

·      Work closely with the assigned portfolio of hotels and Choice's Regional Directors, Franchise Services, to devise and implement revenue management and distribution strategies.

·      Manage the guest room inventory through the system's end date for assigned hotels. Manages rates and inventory through all distribution channels to ensure parity.

·      Understand the market, needs, opportunities and competitive positioning of the hotel to develop each hotel's business strategy and execution plan.

·      Create, recommend and evaluate strategic pricing decisions by market segment and channel to maximize room revenues for the assigned portfolio of hotels.

·      Ensure retail, pricing and distribution strategies are based on sound commercial judgement through effective analysis and reporting.

·      Lead the Revenue Management Meeting with the hotel team to review performance, selling strategies and market trends for assigned hotels.

·      Prepare a Revenue Management recap after every RM meeting, which includes, but is not limited to, performance results, strategies discussed and the implementation process.

·      Analyzes supporting documentation for revenue meeting for assigned hotels – ChoiceRM Reports, market shops, STR, A360, D360, etc.

·      Ensures all Revenue Management data files are organized and maintained.

·      Learn and maintain in-depth knowledge of brand PMS, RMS and back-end Rates & Inventory management system.

·      Ensure hotels are aware of all new marketing & promotional opportunities.

·      Complete special projects & other duties based on the needs of the ChoiceRM program.

·      Participate in the development & rollout of corporate & franchise-wide RM activities.

III.
SKILLS, EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE

·      Bilingual French/English is highly preferred

·      Bachelor's or Master's degree or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.

·      Minimum 3+ years of hotel experience as a hotel Revenue Manager/Director, or Consulting experience directly focused on revenue management and optimization.

·      Comprehensive understanding of Revenue Management principles and philosophies.

·      Thorough understanding of appropriate property management systems, distribution platforms and strategies.

·      Understanding of industry standard metrics & related reports & revenue management tools.

·      Knowledge of implementing marketing programs.

·      Ability to analyze data to understand the business and add a statistical view to the conversation.

·      Ability to conduct detailed business conversations in English and preferably in French as well.

·      Excellent verbal, written and listening skills.

·      Strong analytical reasoning skills to include storage, retrieval, matching and execution.

·      Proficient in the use of all Microsoft Office applications with a high degree of demonstrated proficiency in Excel.

·      Able to apply high-level critical thinking skills to understand and solve complex problems with multiple complex variables.

·      Ability to apply statistical and data analysis to business problems and use it as the basis for making recommendations.

·      Ability to influence decision-makers through presentation of analysis.

·      Ability to make measurable progress on multiple high priorities while also handling the day-to-day operations.
