Food Counter Attendant – Job Description

Position Overview

We are looking for a friendly, energetic, and reliable Food Counter Attendant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for serving guests, preparing simple food items, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring a smooth and welcoming customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet customers with a warm and positive attitude
  • Take customer orders accurately (in person or over the phone)
  • Prepare and serve food items according to company standards
  • Portion, assemble, and package meals for dine-in or takeout
  • Maintain cleanliness of the counter, dining area, and workstations
  • Restock ingredients, condiments, utensils, and supplies as needed
  • Follow health, safety, and food handling guidelines
  • Handle cash, card payments, and operate the POS system
  • Support the kitchen team during busy periods
  • Provide quick and efficient service while keeping quality high

Qualifications

  • Previous customer service or food service experience is an asset but not required
  • Strong communication and multitasking skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Reliable, punctual, and a team player
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 20 lbs

Schedule

  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
