The PrEP Clinic / The Ontario Prevention Clinic +pharmacy is currently seeking a candidate for the Part-Time position of Patient Care Specialist (FR/EN).
The PrEP Clinic is a province-wide leader in online HIV prevention and sexual health services operating since 2019. In addition to online care, we offer in-person sexual health clinics and pharmacy services.
This role is in-person at our 19 Main St location in Ottawa, as part of our collaboration with the AIDS Committee of Ottawa:
- Mondays 3pm-9pm
- Wednesdays 5pm-9pm
We are an inter-collaborative team of Nurse Practitioners, Nurses, Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians/Assistants, and Social Workers - and currently expanding our team of 50+ team members.
We are looking for a highly motivated, outgoing, and detail-oriented applicant to join our dynamic team. Excellent communication skills are essential. Individuals with at least 1 full continuous year of experience as a healthcare professional are welcome to apply (with strong preference for a pharmacy assistant or pharmacy technician). [International experience will be considered as well]. Individuals without a healthcare background will not be considered for the role.
The role is primarily a mix of healthcare administration related to the clinic. The applicant will receive training related to the clinic side, however strong foundations in healthcare practice and patient relation skills are essential.
Your role will include:
- supporting intake and co-ordination of clinic flow
- assisting with medication and supply pick-up
- supporting communication and collaboration between team members
- maintaining the patient record
- maintaining inventory
- navigating our electronic health record system & pharmacy software system
- proactively addressing patient inquiries.
You will have an opportunity to drive meaningful change for the people we care for and be a respected health team member. The role requires the ability to take on leadership and work independently at times.
The clinic strongly believes in equality, diversity, and actively engages in supporting antiracism in the workplace and for our patients. Team members are respected and recognized for their work. Experience with diverse patient populations, especially the LGBTQ+ community, is an asset and preferred.
As the clinic provides care to a very diverse patient population, fluency in additional languages to English is ideal. Fluency in French is considered an asset qualification for this location.
