Position Overview
We are currently seeking a reliable and detail-oriented
Cylindrical Grinding Machine Operator
to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a legacy facility where precision and pride in workmanship are paramount. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, mechanical aptitude, and a willingness to learn specialized grinding techniques.
Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor grinding machines and related equipment
- Perform setup, calibration, and adjustments based on job specifications
- Inspect finished parts for quality and dimensional accuracy
- Maintain equipment and follow safety protocols
- Read and interpret technical drawings and work orders
- Collaborate with team members to meet production goals
- Assist with other machining processes as needed (e.g., milling, jig grinding, lathe work)
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a machine shop or manufacturing environment preferred
- Familiarity with grinding, milling, lathe, or jig grinding is an asset
- Ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools (micrometers, calipers)
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Physically fit and able to stand for long periods
- Willingness to learn and grow within a skilled trade environment
