Mountain Movers is a trusted moving company based in Calgary, Alberta, known for reliable service, teamwork, and a commitment to making every move smooth and stress-free. We're growing and we're looking for a Dispatch Manager who can help keep our operations efficient, organized, and customer-focused.

Position Overview:

The Dispatch Manager is responsible for coordinating, scheduling, and tracking all moving operations. This role requires a strategic thinker with exceptional communication and leadership skills to ensure timely service delivery, route optimization, and overall team performance. Prior moving industry experience is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Scheduling & Coordination: Assign drivers, crews, and vehicles for daily operations and ensure jobs are completed on time.
  • Resource Management: Oversee allocation of vehicles, equipment, and staff to meet operational demands.
  • Routing & Logistics: Plan and optimize routes for maximum efficiency and minimum downtime.
  • Monitoring & Performance: Track fleet activity, evaluate driver performance, and identify improvement areas.
  • Communication: Serve as the main point of contact for drivers, customers, and internal teams to ensure smooth operations.
  • Compliance & Safety: Maintain adherence to safety and transportation regulations, and enforce company standards.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor dispatch staff, delegate responsibilities, and monitor productivity.
  • Administrative Tasks: Handle reports, scheduling records, and invoices accurately and efficiently.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in dispatch or logistics management (moving industry experience preferred).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and make sound decisions quickly.
  • Proficient in computer systems and dispatch software.
  • Analytical mindset and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Leadership experience and a positive, team-driven attitude.
