TMA Law is currently recruiting an experienced Law Clerk to join our real estate department. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated legal professional who thrives on exciting and complex work within a solicitor's practice. The applicant will assist the real estate transactions practice in all aspects of its busy practice under the direction of senior law clerks and lawyers.

Job type: Full-time, permanent.

Salary: Commensurate with experience and performance.

The right candidate will be proficient in the following areas:

  • Administration of residential sales, purchases and refinances
  • Title Transfers
  • Survivorship Applications
  • Private mortgage preparation
  • Reporting and billing

Responsibilities

  • Handle high volume residential real estate transaction files from open to close.
  • Perform thorough title searches.
  • Liaise with clients to gather necessary information and documentation.
  • Coordinate with other law clerk staff as required.
  • Updated records in the database.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all firm and client information.
  • Answer phone calls and administrative duties as required.
  • Corporate Commercial & Power of Sale & Wills Estates experiences will be considered an asset.

Qualification:

  • 5+ years of experience in a real estate transactional law firm environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Teraview, Conveyancer, FCT and FNF, PC Law, Microsoft Office Suite and ESC.
  • Proven ability to work independently as well as part of a team, with the ability to take initiative in fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills.
  • Exceptional administrative and organizational skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Produce a high quality and quantity of work product, occasionally under tight timelines.
  • Able to prioritize and to redefine priorities when necessary.
  • High degree of professional ethics and integrity.
