Job Overview
We are seeking a professional and personable Leasing Agent to join our property management team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing leasing inquiries, showcasing properties, and maintaining positive relationships with prospective tenants. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of property management operations. The Leasing Agent plays a vital role in ensuring a smooth leasing process and fostering tenant satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Greet prospective tenants and conduct property tours to showcase available units
- Manage leasing inquiries via phone, email, and in-person interactions with professionalism and courtesy
- Maintain accurate records of tenant applications, lease agreements, and related documentation using data entry and filing procedures
- Utilize property management software such as Yardi to track leasing activities and tenant information
- Assist in screening applicants through background checks and credit reports to ensure suitability
- Negotiate lease terms and rental rates with prospective tenants to reach mutually beneficial agreements
- Follow up with leads to convert inquiries into signed leases and maintain ongoing customer relationships
- Coordinate move-in processes and ensure all administrative paperwork is completed efficiently
- Maintain knowledge of property features, community amenities, and local market trends to effectively promote units
Skills
- Proficiency in Yardi or similar property management software
- Strong office experience with administrative skills including data entry, filing, and record keeping
- Excellent customer service skills with professional phone etiquette
- Sales experience with the ability to negotiate lease terms effectively
- Knowledge of property management practices and CMMS systems is preferred
- Ability to build and maintain positive customer relationships through effective communication
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple tasks simultaneously
- Experience in customer relationship management (CRM) tools is advantageous
- Familiarity with negotiation techniques and conflict resolution strategies
- Prior office experience in a real estate or property management setting is a plus
