Berwick Retirement and Marquise Hospitality is looking for Dining Services Manager at our dynamic and innovative Berwick Parksville. Schedule:
Wednesday to Sunday, 11:00am to 7:00pm, and/or as per operational requirements.
Pay:
The salary is $57,200 annually.
Position Summary:
- This position answers to the Director of Hospitality and is present during entire meal periods in all 3 dining outlets. This will include touching tables for resident feedback, but assisting the staff where needed.
- Monitor and support dining services staff during meal services
- Create and monitor efficient systems to maintain high standard of service
- Manage food service events , ensuring paperwork is completed and execution of the event, including set up and take down; this includes collaboration with all involved departments.
- Empowering host team by giving them daily incentives and key service standards to work on.
- Updating timekeeping systems daily, ensuring accurate data for Director of Hospitality.
- Working with the POS system to ensure accuracy of chits, including any follow up.
- Conducting monthly in-services with dining room members on service standards and resident engagement.
- Attending weekly/monthly meetings that include food service as required.
- Performing health and safety talks and any follow up as required.
- Recruiting, hiring and continuous training front of house team members.
- Working with HR advisors and Director of Hospitality to create and issue all front of house related disciplinary actions.
- Being the first point of contact for all hourly front of house team members.
- Encouraging employee engagement through the Marquise and Berwick social media platforms.
- Other duties as outlined by the Director of Hospitality.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years management experience.
- Minimum 5 years hands on dining service experience
- Hospitality education is an asset
- Food Safe is required
- First Aid is preferred
- Must be physically able to lift and transfer heavy, hot items and stand/walk for majority of shift.
- Non-slip shoes are required
Note: At Berwick we understand the importance of immunization to protect our residents, team members and visitors from COVID-19. As such, a prerequisite of employment is that all new hires are vaccinated as approved by Health Canada. A current TB test and criminal record check are also required pursuant to the Criminal Records Review Act for working with vulnerable adults.
