The Senior Estimator at Chandos Vancouver plays a pivotal role in delivering cost certainty and strategic value from project conception through to construction start. This position is ideal for professionals with experience in ICI (Industrial, Commercial, Institutional), residential, recreation, and healthcare or long-term care sectors.

A Typical Day

  • Lead estimating workshops and develop full-cost estimates across all project phases.
  • Collaborate with multi-stakeholder teams using IPD and other collaborative delivery models.
  • Perform detailed take-offs and maintain unit costs, labour rates, and contingency allowances.
  • Solicit competitive bids and conduct value-engineering reviews.

Successful Candidates Will Have

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management (or a related field).
  • CEC designation (CIQS) required; PQS designation preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of estimating experience.
  • At least 4 years in construction management.
  • Proven experience in ICI (Industrial, Commercial, Institutional), residential, recreational, and healthcare sectors.
  • Deep knowledge of the local construction and subcontractor marketplace.
  • Skilled in value-engineering reviews, unit cost maintenance, and contingency planning.
  • Strong ability to perform material, labour, equipment, and subcontractor take-offs.
