Quality Inclusion Coach

We are currently accepting applications for a permanent, full-time Quality Inclusion Coach in our Peterborough office. This position is covered by the OPSEU Local 334 collective agreement.
In this position, you play a pivotal role in ensuring that inclusion practices meet community developed Standards of Quality. This position focuses on fostering inclusive early learning and child care environments that support the diverse needs of all children, families, and educators through capacity building. The Quality Inclusion Coach offers coaching, modeling, training, resources, and support services to educators and educator teams within the early learning and child care community of Peterborough and County.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Inclusion Supports and Services
- Provide information regarding community services/supports/ resources to families and early learning and child care educators.
- Use community developed tools to assess, monitor, and plan for the inclusion of all children in early learning and child care regardless of auspice.
- Coach, mentor, and model theory based best practices in the delivery of high-quality early learning environments supporting all children, families, and educators.
- Assist in development, implementation and review of F-Words Coaching Plans and/or Individualized Support Plan (ISP) with childcare program educators, children, families, and other service providers as appropriate.
- Coordinate additional assessments as needed from other sources as needed.
- Provide input to the Program Manager in the assessment of childcare programs' needs and interests to continue building educator capacity and high-quality early learning environments for all children.
- Assist in the monitoring of contractual agreements with early learning and child care settings for inclusion support funding/ staffing as appropriate.
- Provide and utilize screening tools as required and requested by early learning and child care educators.
Quality Assurance/ Capacity Building
- Use community developed Quality Standards to assess, monitor, and plan for continuous program/agency improvements.
- Use community Quality Standards, Educator Interaction Tools, observations, and environmental assessments to assess, monitor, and plan for the continuous building of educator (team) capacity.
- Facilitate and/or provide professional learning/training opportunities that may be site/program specific or community-based initiatives.
- Review annual Quality Enhancement Plans and provide formal feedback to assigned early learning and child care site/ programs/ agencies.
General Responsibilities
- Comply with relevant Centre/ Ministry statistical, clinical and administrative reporting requirements in a timely manner.
- Work collaboratively with community-based early learning and child care educators/ teams.
- Assume responsibility for a designated caseload of early learning and child care sites.
- Maintain appropriate service delivery records as per service delivery Resource Guide.
- Communicate regularly with the Quality Inclusion Collaborative Program Manager regarding community program information and concerns as appropriate.
- Demonstrates professional conduct which embodies the mission and values of the Centre and The Ontario College of Early Childhood Educators including the RECE Code of Ethics.
- Represent the Centre on appropriate community committees.
- Participate on Centre committees.
- Comply with CPL expectations of The Ontario College of Early Childhood Educators.
What You Bring:
- Diploma or degree in ECE or recognized equivalent; must maintain membership in the Ontario College of Early Childhood Educators.
- Five years' experience working with children and their families in early learning and childcare settings.
- Knowledge and provision of formal assessments related to inclusion supports and quality early learning and child care standards.
- Excellent knowledge of current legislation and its application in childcare settings.
- Excellent knowledge of community services and resources that support families.
- Demonstrate willingness and ability to work within and utilize a capacity building approach in service delivery.
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
- Ability to work independently and as a team member.
- Valid First Aid/CPR training certification.
- Clear vulnerable sector check (within last 12 months).
- Proof of updated immunizations including COVID-19 (two doses).
- Access to reliable and efficient transportation to travel regularly to a variety of different locations in the City and County of Peterborough.
