Job Description

WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

RBC Technology Infrastructure seeks a full stack Machine Learning Engineer to explore and operationalize big data sources to reduce outage and down time for RBC services that leads to improve user experience and save costs.  As a senior experienced engineer, you will be responsible for building and managing data platforms and pipelines for Data Science with appropriate data governance and security.  You will work with data scientists and peer data engineers to actively solve business problems and delivering value using agile methodology. You will work with technical and business stakeholders to build and maintain an optimized and scalable data pipeline and democratize data. You will participate in the architecture review and approval process.  You will be also responsible for working closely with data scientists in the area of data ingestion and feature engineering, establishing coding best practices, maintaining and managing technical documentation and incident triaging and resolution.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • As part of the ML / Data Engineering team, you will encompass an end to end view from data sourcing, lineage, quality, transformation and storage.

  • Execute Development and Integration activities (planning, execution, testing, deployment and post implementation support) of existing and new data and visualization Technologies (e.g. Omni-Channel reporting, Gamification/Visualization).

  • You will work on creating, developing and managing ML pipelines from experimentation to deployment of Data Science products.  You will also be responsible for data sourcing, lineage, quality, transformation and storage.

  • Build container based solutions, pipelines, APIs/Microservices and analytics portal for heterogeneous data sources on internal data lakes or cloud platforms

  • Collaborate with Data scientists, Process Engineers and Business Stakeholders to develop ML / data pipelines, and assist with prescriptive and predictive analytics through consolidated data

  • Prepare data to be used for diagnostic/descriptive reporting and data science work.

  • Identify and resolve data movement/transformation/processing bottlenecks

  • Research emerging Data and Visualization technologies trends/best practices and propose solutions for Technology and Business partners.

  • Deploy and participate to build Gen-AI, Machine Learning (ML), Deep Learning and statistical models to solve specific business problems.

  • Deploy and participate to build predictive data models, anomaly detection model, quantitative analyses and visualization of targeted big data sources.

  • Experience in data applications using large scale distributed systems (e.g. Spark, Hadoop, Pig, and Hive).

  • Lead full life-cycle Data Science and ML solutions from beginning to model deployment and monitoring and partner with the engineering team to ensure best practices for ML model deployment.

  • Experience in (Python, R, Scala, SQL, NoSQL, etc.) to obtain, integrate, manipulate, and analyze data from multiple sources.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

Must have:

  • University, Master or Ph.D. degree in an analytical field of study (e.g. Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or related quantitative field).

  • Experience deploying, creating and using Gen-AI , advanced machine learning algorithms and statistics: Classification and Clustering, Forecasting, Predictive modeling, Recommender Engine, Anomaly detection, Optimization, Simulation, Regression, etc.

  • Excellent knowledge in MS SQL Server DBA.

  • Good knowledge with Microsoft Windows Server Administration.

  • Excellent knowledge in Python, SQL and C# Programming languages.

  • Excellent Knowledge in cloud orchestration.

  • Excellent knowledge in Experience with SSIS, Spark, cloud computing services (e.g. AWS), Hadoop.

  • Experience with BI tools such as Tableau, Looker, PowerBI, and DOMO for dashboarding or analysis

  • Ability to create data and model architectures.

  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple work streams concurrently

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in following key areas:

    • Data engineering solutions: Logstash, Python, SQL Server, Kafka, Hadoop, Spark, Scala

    • API: Flask, Node.JS, Django, and Microservices technologies

    • Automation/DevOps: Github Actions, Airflow, UCD, Selenium and similar technologies

    • Cloud technologies: Openshift, PCF, Docker, Kubernetes

    • Git & code version management

Nice-to-have:

  • Broad knowledge of ML methods, statistical analysis, and problem-solving skills.

  • Knowledge of advanced statistical analysis techniques and concepts, and how to apply them to data sets.

  • Familiarity with structured and non-structured data.

  • A desire to learn new techniques and technologies.
