Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Certified Red Cross Babysitting & Home Alone Course Instructor to lead engaging and educational training sessions for children and teenagers. This role involves teaching essential safety skills, fostering confidence, and ensuring participants are well-prepared for independent or babysitting responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children, possess strong communication skills, and hold current certification in Red Cross babysitting and home alone courses. This position offers an opportunity to make a positive impact on young learners while sharing valuable life skills.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive Red Cross Babysitting & Home Alone courses to groups of children and teens in a professional and engaging manner
  • Develop lesson plans that cover topics such as first aid, emergency response, caregiving, and safety procedures
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and interactive learning environment that encourages participation and questions
  • Assess participants' understanding through practical demonstrations and discussions
  • Maintain course materials, supplies, and equipment in good condition
  • Provide feedback to participants on their progress and areas for improvement
  • Ensure all training sessions adhere to Red Cross standards and safety guidelines
  • Promote the importance of responsible caregiving, safety awareness, and emergency preparedness

Requirements

  • Current certification as a Red Cross Babysitting & Home Alone Course Instructor or equivalent qualification
  • Experience working with children in roles such as babysitting, daycare, nannying, or caregiving
  • Strong knowledge of first aid, infant care, toddler care, and working with children with disabilities is preferred
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to teach diverse age groups effectively
  • Background in childcare, teaching, or related fields is highly desirable
  • Ability to create engaging lesson plans tailored to different developmental levels
  • Passion for empowering young individuals with essential safety skills
  • Reliable, responsible, and committed to providing high-quality instruction
