About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Picture Framer with hands-on experience in custom framing for artwork, photographs, and collectibles. The ideal candidate has a strong eye for detail, understands conservation methods, and can work confidently with a wide range of materials and styles. This is not a training position; previous framing experience is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Measure, cut, and assemble frames, mats, and glazing with precision
  • Advise clients on framing options, design, and materials to complement their artwork
  • Use hand tools, saws, mat cutters, and mounting equipment safely and efficiently
  • Handle artwork with the utmost care, ensuring proper preservation and presentation
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace
  • Assist with inventory management of framing supplies

Required Qualifications

  • Proven professional experience in custom framing (minimum 2 years preferred)
  • Knowledge of mat cutting, mounting, conservation techniques, and finishing
  • Ability to read measurements accurately and work to exact specifications
  • Strong customer service and design skills
  • Comfort working independently as well as part of a team

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working in a gallery or art-focused retail environment
  • Familiarity with conservation-grade materials
  • Creative problem-solving for unique or oversized framing projects
