About Skarnfell is an early-stage co-op survival-horror prototype in Unreal Engine 5. We're seeking an AI Programmer to help build Tier-1 foundational enemy behavior using the OverCrowd plugin for scalable crowd performance.

Responsibilities

  • Implement basic AI pathing, detection, destruction, and attack logic.
  • Use OverCrowd for crowd simulation and movement performance.
  • Apply tags and variables to determine priority targets (weak points, windows, doors).
  • Ensure entities react to target tags being added, removed, or updated during runtime.
  • Provide weekly check-ins and progress updates.

Requirements

  • Experience with Unreal Engine 5 (Blueprint and/or C++).
  • Solid understanding of AI behavior setup and navmesh movement.
  • Familiarity with plugin integration (OverCrowd or similar).
  • Ability to work independently and communicate clearly.
  • Based in Edmonton (preferred) or elsewhere in Canada.

Contract & Pay

  • Independent contract for prototype phase.
  • Fixed-scope, negotiable based on deliverables.
  • Potential for future contracts and ongoing work.

Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract

Contract length: 2 months

Pay: $2,000.00-$2,500.00 per month
