Library Assistant (2-Month Contract)

Location: Onsite (Yorkville Area - Bloor St) – Full Time (Monday to Friday)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Pay Rate: $21/hour
Contract Length: 2 months

About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Library Assistant to support daily operations and provide excellent service to library users. This full-time, onsite role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in an organized, customer-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

Assist patrons with locating materials, general inquiries, and account questions

Check materials in and out using the library's system

Shelve, organize, and maintain library materials

Support interlibrary loan processes and material handling

Prepare displays, signage, and materials for library programs

Perform data entry, filing, and other administrative tasks

Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming library environment

Provide general support to library staff as required

Qualifications

Previous experience in a library, administrative, or customer-service role is an asset

Strong organizational and multitasking skills

Comfortable using computers, databases, and library systems (training provided)

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to lift and move books or boxes as required

Work Schedule

Monday to Friday, onsite

37.5 hours per week
